Cell-phones at School
procedure

Rationale:

It is considered that there is no valid reason for students to be operating a cell-phone during the hours of instruction.

The school is responsible for safety of children in its care and therefore needs to control all calls made to and by children while they are at school.

School Regulations:

  • Students may not be in possession of a cell-phone during school hours from 8:30am to 3:15pm. (Possession includes cell-phones in school bags.)

  • Cell-phones are not to be brought to school, and if found will be confiscated and will only be returned to the parent / caregiver when picked up from the school office.

  • If a student needs to contact a parent or parent needs to contact student for any purpose, including health or safety reasons he/she is expected to arrange this through the class teacher via the current school procedures.
